The wigs on the Display Sets of the Effanbee Historical Dolls are human hair, designed by famed New York wig designer Meyer Jacoby. Styles vary from the long straight black hair of the two Indian dolls to the elaborate coiffures on dolls representing other eras in the series.

The wigs of the Display Sets of the Effanbee Historical Dolls were hand-threaded, resulting in parts that look much more realistic than the human hair wigs used on other dolls of the era.

Wigs used on the replica dolls are faithfully styled to match the corresponding dolls in the Display Series.  The wigs on the smaller dolls are also human hair, but do not feature the delicate hand-threading utilized on the Display Series.
