The wigs on the Display Sets of the Effanbee Historical Dolls are human hair, designed by famed New York wig designer Meyer Jacoby. Styles vary from the long straight black hair Indian dolls to the elaborate coiffures of later years.
The wigs of the Display Sets of the Effanbee Historical Dolls were hand-threaded, resulting in parts that look much more realistic than the human hair wigs used on other dolls of the era.
Wigs used on the replica dolls are faithfully styled to match the corresponding dolls in the Display Series. They are also human hair, but do not feature the hand-threaded parts utilized on the Display Series.
Color appears to have varied somewhat from doll to doll. Several models have been noted with the same hair style in different colors.
